Valdotorium

Welcome to my personal website! My real name is Valentin, while Valdotorium is my online name for most things. I am interested in infrastructure and cities, transport and drumming, and especially computer science. From designing CPU architectures to Game Development with Pygame or Phaser, computers and programming are very fascinating for me. In the recent years, i started to try out various technologies and building projects, mostly games with them. Here is a quick overview of the technologies i use:

• 

  Python

  I use Python mainly for building games using pygame, i also used libraries such as pymunk and pygbag. My biggest project with Python is PyKart, which i made playable in the web with pygbag. As a school project, i implemented a a-star algorithm in pygame.

• 

  Go

  Go is a new language i have looked into a bit. I am also using the ebiten game engine for graphics, and i considered making a kind of city-builder with these tools, before switching to phaser (JavaScript).

• 

  JavaScript

  I use JavaScript without frameworks to animate things on websites. A data-visualization website is my oldest JS project. The website can be used to turn data stored in CSV-files into animated diagrams. Recently i have started to use JavaScript way more in my projects. A project that is in development now is a game about building transportation infrastructure ,made using the Phaser game engine and Neutralinojs to bring it to desktop.

• 

  CSS & HTML

  Obviously, i use HTML and CSS to define the looks and structures of my websites, and even animating some stuff. Here is one of the websites i set up recently, a world map of a minecraft project: Fallford

• Minecraft Redstone

  With minecraft Redstone it is possible to build logic gates and many computational devices that use binary to work. Mainly with this youtube video and many videos by mattbatwings (YouTube), i have learned the basics of how assembly languages and CPUs work by building my own very small redstone processor.

• Others

  I am learning Java for school, by implementing simple programs in Greenfoot earlier, i used BASIC in school projects and made my first steps in Gamedev in Scratch
